Battery technology developer BioSolar has presented its strategy for a Silicon Oxide Composite technology program, pursuing better batteries for the global EV industry.
With major car manufacturers such as Volkswagen, General Motors and Nissan announcing plans for new plug-in models, the need for batteries with better performance in terms of storage capacity, life extension and lower costs increases. BioSolars Silicon Oxide Composite Anode wants to meet those needs with a superior cycle and calendar life performance. Additionally, the company wants to develop ways to produce a new anode material, lowering the costs for EV Li-Ion batteries.
BioSolar has planned three steps for this process, consisting of the material design and selection phase that is currently happening, optimization and process improvement and the achievement of product validation. Dr. David Lee, CEO of BioSolar, says: “We are making meaningful progress in our R&D efforts that target the extremely high-growth EV sector.
