Opportunities and Challenges in Sector Coupling For Commercial and Industrial PV Installations

The smarter E Podcast Episode 185 | August 01, 2024 | Language: German

Many commercial and industrial companies use PV systems to reduce their CO² emissions and lower their energy costs. By integrating electricity, heat and mobility, they can exploit useful synergies and kill several birds with one stone via sector coupling. But what is the most economical way to design such systems? Which combinations are worthwhile for whom? And how can companies best implement legal requirements, such as the obligation for parking lot PV in some federal states? We talk about this in this podcast episode with Stefan Reber and Johannes Eisenlohr from focusEnergie.

Timeline:

  • 02:30 Which components are usually combined with a PV system in industry and commerce? Which combinations promise particularly high efficiency and how important is intelligent energy management?
  • 06:14 For which sectors are such combined solutions particularly attractive? How much energy costs can companies save on average through clever sector coupling in combination with a PV system?
  • 10:17 What are the biggest drivers for companies to invest in renewable energy systems?
  • 15:48 What are the financing and funding options for companies investing in PV systems, storage and e-mobility?
  • 18:19 What would have to change in general for more companies to invest in a climate-neutral energy supply
